Scotney Castle 

Enjoy a day of history in the beautiful surroundings of the National Trust property of Scotney Castle, with the house, estate, garden, shop and tearoom to explore. Available at a 20 minute drive from Sunninglye and is the perfect place for a family day out, especially during the Summer season.

 The National Pinetum is home to over 12,000 trees, and miles of opportunities for cycling, mountain-biking, walking and orienteering. There is also a Go Ape tree top adventure, a café and plenty of space for a peaceful picnic surrounded by beautiful conifers.

Bewl Water 

Located at a 20 minute drive from Sunninglye, Bewl Water is the largest area of open water in the South East. It is the location for an excellent family day out for cycling, fishing, walking, and other leisure activities.

Arguably the most well known area of Royal Tunbridge Wells, The Pantiles is a wonderful area to dine, drink and shop within the history of the spa town. From pubs and cafés and fine dining experiences, The Pantiles is not a place to miss.

Kent and Sussex has over 2,395km of footpaths, bridleways and byways with walks that can be enjoyed by everyone. If you love nature, the unique landscape of The High Weald provides self-guided walks, nature trails and long-distances routes that are to be enjoyed on our doorstep.

Penshurst Place and Gardens 

Home of a 14th Century Manor House and eleven acres of  formal gardens, Penshurst Place is a place for a whole day of adventure. With plenty of space for lunchtime picnics, cycling routes and estate walks, there's even a Maize Maze during the school summer holidays.

Bodium Castle 

Another local National Trust property, Bodium Castle is a 14th Century moated castle with a ruined interior. Home to a variety of wildlife including one of the largest bat roosts in the South East, conservation projects such as their wildflower meadows and a castle-view café. National Trust properties never fail to provide an ideal family day out.

Groombridge Place 

With six formal gardens, an enchanted forest, owl and rapture centre and canal boat on the River Grom, Groombridge Place is a mysterious and enchanted place for endless activities and opportunities  for fun. There's also giant chess and giant swings, and the chance to make a teepee in the treetops.
